New Fieldfisher Dublin office to ‘fuel growth’

European law firm Fieldfisher has agreed a ten-year lease on a new headquarters at Mespil Road in Dublin.

Fieldfisher entered the Irish market in 2019 after a merger with McDowell Purcell, which had a presence in Dublin for more than 120 years.

The firm currently employs 120 staff across several practice areas, with plans to further expand in the Irish market over the coming years. Its Dublin office recorded revenue growth of 9% in the 2022/23 financial year.

‘Significant milestone’

Fieldfisher says that the new location at Mespil Road will see its team grow both on-site and remotely through the firm’s hybrid work model.

The office is a newly developed, stand-alone building comprising 4,460 square metres of office accommodation distributed across six floors.

JP McDowell (Fieldfisher Ireland managing partner) described the move as “a significant milestone” in the firm’s Irish story.

Revenue target

He said that the Irish legal market had undergone considerable change in the last five years, and was becoming increasingly internationalised.

“As part of the wider Fieldfisher network, we are now able to service our clients' international legal needs. This has been particularly valuable in certain growth sectors, such as renewable energy,” he added.

The firm aims to grow revenue by 25% over the next three years, and believes that the new location will fuel that growth, and support talent acquisition through lateral hires and the identification of merger opportunities.

It said that it would be welcoming clients at the new premises “in the coming weeks and months”. International Fieldfisher managing partners are also due to visit Dublin for a conference at the location later this year.
