New employment partner at Eversheds Sutherland

Global law firm Eversheds Sutherland has appointed a new employment-law partner in its commercial department in Dublin.

The appointment of Marie Claire Scullion, who is a tutor in employment law on the Law Society of Ireland’s professional-practice course, takes effect immediately.

Scullion (pictured) is an employment specialist and brings more than 18 years’ experience to Eversheds Sutherland.

She provides strategic and practical advice to domestic and international clients on all aspects of the employment relationship.

Corporate transactions

Scullion also advises on the employment aspects of corporate transactions, and guides employers through restructuring programmes, and contentious areas such as grievances, disciplinary matters, protected disclosures, redundancies, termination of employment, and enforcement of post-termination restrictions.

She is also a member of the Anti-Bullying Centre’s advisory board.

“As an international firm operating in an increasingly global marketplace, Eversheds Sutherland is well-placed to service the needs of domestic and international clients and help them navigate employment issues with confidence,” Scullion stated.

Alan Connell (managing partner of Eversheds Sutherland Ireland) said that Ireland’s status as a strategic gateway jurisdiction to the European marketplace meant that the effective management of local and global employment-related issues was “of paramount importance” to the firm’s clients.
