Join Law Society MOOC live discussion
Over 3,000 students are participating in the annual Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), delivered by the Diploma Centre team at the Law Society.
The participants came from countries worldwide, with students from Brazil, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, Croatia, Sweden and Ukraine taking part.
Expert speakers
This year’s MOOC has boasted an exceptional programme of talks and live Q&A sessions with a host of expert speakers.
The opening addresses were delivered by Ossian Smyth (Green Party Minister of State with responsibility for Public Procurement, e-Government and the Circular Economy) and the Law Society Director General Mark Garrett.
Other contributors include:
- Dr Brian MacSharry (head of group, nature and biodiversity, European Environment Agency),
- Julie Hutton (head of operations, Irish Centre for Diversity),
- Nessa Joyce (partner and head of ESG and sustainability group William Fry),
- Cliona Kimber SC,
- Jonathan Moore (partner at Fieldfisher),
- Eamon O’ Connor (senior tax manager, PwC).
Panel event
The live panel event takes place next Tuesday, 9 July, and will feature Dr Rachel Widdis (EMEA director, ArticleOne) and Aonghus Kelly (lawyer, Muine Dubh Teoranta).
They will speak and answer questions on the topic of ESG and human rights.
The MOOC remains open until 31 July.
