Tech lawyer moves from IMRO to William Fry

William Fry LLP has appointed Barry Scannell as a consultant in its technology department.

A leading technology lawyer with 15 years' experience, Scannell spent six years with IMRO as its director of legal affairs and regulatory compliance. He specialises in copyright law, music licensing, artificial intelligence, commercial and media contracts, and IP infringements.

He is also a PhD candidate researching AI and copyright law, and sits on the Law Society’s Technology and IP Committee.

William Fry’s dedicated technology department advises on all aspects of technology matters for suppliers, customers and creators. Its client base includes both Irish start-ups and established international brands.
