The complimentary Annual Copyright Lecture will take place on 4 May. The lecture will explore Article 17 of the Digital Single Market Directive, which imposes a new liability regime on online service providers, such as YouTube, Meta and TikTok, in relation to copyright-protected works uploaded to their platforms by individual users.

The EU has adopted legislation that protects farmers against unfair trading practices in business-to-business relationships. In the latest Gazette, Cormac Little assesses how the new rules benefit food producers when dealing with larger buyers.

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has published its latest decisions and recommendations from 28 February to 15 March. Cases cover issues including age discrimination, disputed resignation, discipline procedures and more.

Resources

The Law Society has created a new hub bringing together resources for solicitors to manage their professional responsibilities regarding the conflict in Ukraine, and support the international humanitarian efforts. This includes information regarding sanctions on Russia and Belarus over Ukraine .

Training

The In-house and Public Sector Committee and Law Society Skillnet are pleased to host the annual panel discussion in an online format.  The theme this year is Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) and its impact for in-house solicitors and the organisations/businesses they serve across the public and private sectors.
