building defects survey

Background

The Programme for Government sets out a number of commitments in respect of building defects and provides for an examination of defects in housing. The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien TD, has therefore established a Working Group to Examine Defects in Housing.

Your views sought

The Working group is asking the following stakeholders to share their experience in purpose-built apartment and duplex buildings constructed in Ireland between 1991 and 2013.

  • homeowners (both current and former),
  • landlords,
  • directors of Owners’ Management Companies (OMCs), and
  • property management agents.

Defects might relate to fire safety, structural safety or water ingress, and information is sought from people regardless of whether defects in those properties are currently known, unknown or where no defects have arisen.

The surveys will run until Monday 14 March. For more information, and to complete the surveys, visit the gov.ie website
