Skills Connect - Construction Law employment activation programme

In-depth training in construction law will be provided in this employment activation programme. Legal matters to be addressed will include:

  • construction law of contracts,
  • law of obligations,
  • tort in construction law,
  • procurement,
  • the RIAI building agreement,
  • statutory obligations,
  • and more.

The objective of the programme is to provide participants with the knowledge and experience required for them to be able to take up employment in this area of law that is expected to expand significantly within the short and medium term.

This Skills Connect initiative includes practical on-site or virtual work placements and projects with employers that offer an opportunity to apply skills that have been acquired in the virtual classroom. Skills Connect facilitates the rapid reskilling of workers most impacted by Covid-19. It is designed in partnership with legal services stakeholders to enhance cross-sector employability and support people who have lost their jobs. It offers a suite of bespoke upskilling and training solutions, designed by solicitors for solicitors, aimed at supporting re-entry into the workforce.

Skills Connect offers free online training programmes and enterprise-led virtual and onsite job placements to jobseekers looking for new jobs and careers. This valuable initiative offers individuals the opportunity to develop new skills or reskill, build confidence and access practical on-the-job training.
