News

Three recent CJEU rulings will require substantial modernisation and reform of many of Ireland’s public-register digital portals. Duncan Grehan explains in the latest Gazette.

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has published decisions and recommendations from 24 to 31 July 2023.

More and more people are changing jobs and switching roles. Writing in the Gazette, Tess Drea describes the tools to deal with the impact that such significant transitions can have on our lives and overall wellbeing.

The media watchdog Coimisiún na Meán (CnaM) has designated video-sharing platforms as a category of relevant online services under broadcasting legislation. This means that online-safety codes developed by the regulator may apply to providers of such services under the jurisdiction of the State. The designation will take effect from 11 September.

Nominations will open for the Law Society Council Election on 1 September. The Council represents the Law Society and its members both in the interests of the public and of the solicitors’ profession generally.

Training

Booking is now open for the Annual In-house and Public Sector Conference. Taking place on Thursday 12 October, this event will explore Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how in-house and public sector lawyers can deal with the new evolving Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) implications with a focus on what is coming down the line.
