At the recent Ireland for Law General Counsel Summit, the Attorney General said that legal services are poised to make a significant contribution to Ireland’s strong multi-national offering. In the latest Gazette, Mary Hallissey reports on the event, held on 28 February at Blackhall Place.

The General Court of the EU has confirmed the power of the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators to make decisions on cross-border energy issues. Alan McCarthy explores the implications of the decision for the April Gazette.

Registrations are now open for Dublin International Disputes Week (DIDW) 2023. Running from 6-9 June 2023, DIDW will take place at The Printworks, Dublin Castle. The event provides a forum for international dispute practitioners and general counsel.

Resources

The 2023/24 Women in Leadership Mentoring Programme is now open for applications. This programme is designed to support women who wish to grow personally and professionally, and advance their careers to a senior level. Applications are welcomed from solicitors working in-house and in the public sector who wish to become a mentor or be mentored.

The Law Society Library is producing a new series of Subject Guides for solicitors. Each month, a new Subject Guide will bring together relevant precedents, practice notes, books, ebooks, journal articles, case law and legislation on different areas of law.

Training

Booking is now open for the In-House and Public Sector Panel Discussion 2023. Taking place on 10 May, this year's event focuses on the Social aspects of Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) and its impact for in-house solicitors and the organisations/businesses they serve across the public and private sectors.

In-house solicitors in the private and public sectors can connect and network with colleagues across organisations using a private LinkedIn group.
