Opt in for Get a quote
Firms are invited to opt in for the Get a quote pilot project - an initiative from the Law Society to encourage solicitors to give quotes for legal services (scroll down to see the form).
The aim of this pilot project, launched in 2017 as Get a Quote, is to make it easier for prospective clients to get quotes for legal services
Introduction, solicitor's work and questionnaire
Detailed questionnaires for four areas of practice, along with an outline of the solicitor's work involved and additional information for that practice area, have been prepared for firms to share with prospective clients to obtain the best quote.
Opt in
Legal firms can continue to opt in by reviewing the rules and submitting a short online form. See the existing list of participating firms.
By opting in to this pilot project, a firm agrees to the following:
- To participate in the project for an initial period of 6 months.
- To process all requests for quotes received during this period. However, subject to that, the firm’s usual criteria for entering into a contract for legal services will apply.
- All quotes will be on the basis of the answers a firm gets to the Law Society’s questionnaire for the particular service.
- The Law Society of Ireland will not be a party to any contract for legal services subsequently entered into between the firm and the person who sought the quote.
