Taxation
Role of the Committee
The Taxation Committee is active in making submissions to the Department of Finance and the Revenue Commissioners on tax matters. It represents the interests of solicitors on the Tax Administration Liaison Committee (TALC), which is the liaison body for solicitor tax advisors, accountants and the Revenue Commissioners. View more information and TALC minutes.
Each year the Committee submits tax proposals to the Government in relation to the annual budget. The Committee reviews and reports on the Finance Bill and other tax legislation and proposals and makes representations in relation to issues arising therefrom when necessary.
The Committee maintains close links with the Conveyancing Committee as many of the tax matters and queries which arise are common to both Committees.
