News

  • Data breaches can arise in a wide variety of situations, and affect many organisations. In the latest Gazette, Brendan Quinn examines how practitioners should respond to a breach - and when a report to the Data Protection Commissioner is needed. Read the Gazette
  • The Working Group to Examine Defects in Housing is seeking feedback from current and former stakeholders in duplex and apartment buildings. Surveys are being conducted targeting homeowners (both current and former), landlords, directors of Owners’ Management Companies (OMCs), and property management agents. See the survey details
  • The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has published decisions and determinations from 1 to 13 January. Recent cases cover grievance procedures, disputed self-employment, and more. See WRC decisions and recommendations

  • To mark Data Protection Day on 28 January, the IP & Data Protection Law Committee published useful guidance for practitioners and others dealing with children's data. The guidance, informed by a publication of the Data Protection Commission, covers the 'age of digital consent', profiling, impact assessments and more. View the guidance

Training

  • On 19 May the In-house and Public Sector Committee and Law Society Finuas Skillnet will host the annual in-house Panel Discussion. Details, including the Brochure and Booking Form, will be available on the Society’s website in early March.
