A recent Information Session for younger members and trainee solicitors offered practical guidance on securing and succeeding in an in-house role. The discussion, between Donna McGrath and Maeve Delargy, is available to view in full on the Law Society's YouTube channel.

In-house and Public Sector Conference 12 October 2023

Booking is now open for the Annual In-house and Public Sector Conference. Taking place on Thursday 12 October, this event will explore Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how in-house and public sector lawyers can deal with the new evolving Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) implications with a focus on what is coming down the line.

In-house and Public Sector Panel Discussion, 10 May 2023

On 10 May 2023 the In-house and Public Sector Committee and Law Society Skillnet hosted the annual panel discussion. It focused on the social aspects of Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) and its impact for in-house solicitors and the organisations/businesses they serve across the public and private sectors. In-house and Public Sector Panel Discussion, 19 May 2022

On 19 May 2022 the In-house and Public Sector Committee and Law Society Skillnet hosted the annual panel discussion in an online format. The theme was Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) and its impact for in-house solicitors and the organisations/businesses they serve across the public and private sectors.

In-house and Public Sector Panel Discussion - 27 May 2021

On 27 May 2021, the In-house and Public Sector Committee, in partnership with Law Society Finuas Skillnet, held a Panel Discussion focusing on the practical side of remote working for in-house solicitors in the private public sectors at a time of fundamental change. Topics ranged from the employment law obligations that arise in this context, the future of the office, Data Protection to litigation and running cases remotely. Annual In-house and Public Sector Conference – 5 November 2020 

The Annual In-House & Public Sector Conference 2020 took place on 5 November 2020. Focused on enhancing the effectiveness of the in-house legal team, and developments in Legal Professional Privilege, this event was live online.

In-house and Public Sector Panel Discussion 2020

The 2020 In-House Panel Discussion ‘Enhancing the Effectiveness of the In-house Legal Team’ discussed how in-house lawyers can achieve the ‘holy grail’ for the service professional – the role of trusted legal advisor.

Diploma Courses for in-house solicitors

The Society’s Diploma Centre offers courses tailored for in-house solicitors in the private and public sectors, for instance their Certificate for Strategic Leadership for In-house.
